The holidays are quickly approaching, and that can bring stress, along with all the good stuff. Why not de-stress this weekend by finding something to do in East Texas? Live music, shows, sales, and more might be just what you're looking for!
Friday and Saturday will be the Annual Christmas Sale by the Women’s Auxiliary of The Salvation Army in Tyler! It will be open from 9am to 3pm on November 22nd and 23rd in the New Spence building at the corner of Bow and Spring Streets in North Tyler, off Broadway. Christmas trees, beautifully decorated wreaths, Christmas lights, wrapping paper, and all kinds of Christmas décor will be available and at unbelievable prices. All proceeds will benefit the programs of The Salvation Army in Tyler where we’re “Doing the Most Good” for the homeless, desolate, and lonely among us.
To Kill a Mockingbird at TJC: The Finches – Scout, Jem and Atticus – are coming to Tyler Junior College. The show runs 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Nov. 20-23, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in Jean Browne Theatre, located on the TJC main campus.Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the TJC Box Office. TJC: At 7 p.m. Saturday, physicist Dr. Karl Giberson will discuss creation vs. evolution in America; and at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, a panel discussion will be held on the often-rocky relationship between science and faith. The events will be held in the Apache Rooms in Rogers Student Center, on the TJC main campus. Admission for each event is $5.
